Kelly McAleer, MSPH

Kelly McAleer is a Senior Public Health Research Analyst with 2M Research. Prior to joining 2M, she was a research public health analyst with RTI. She has more than 16 years of experience in public health, with 5 of those years at the federal level with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and at the state level at the North Carolina Department of Health. Ms. McAleer’s work focuses primarily on evaluations of a variety of public health topics: innovations, training and technical assistance, program infrastructure, and chronic disease programs. Within these projects, she has worked on all aspects of evaluation, from the development and planning stage, to instrument development, quantitative and qualitative data collection, cleaning, and analysis. She has also been integral in the dissemination stage, interpreting data and writing results for 40 technical reports, along with manuscripts, and conference presentations. Ms. McAleer has worked on the evaluation of state-based chronic disease programs through work with CDC, including Comprehensive Cancer Control programs, Diabetes Prevention and Control Programs, and Tobacco Prevention and Control Programs. She has also been responsible for the evaluation of community-based programs through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Health Care Innovation Awardee (HCIA) programs, where she participated in both qualitative data collection (interviews, site visits), coding, and reporting, and quantitative secondary data cleaning, analysis, and reporting. Ms. McAleer’s experience extends beyond her technical expertise, with work in proposal development, program management, and client relationship management, as well as expertise in applying for Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval. Her background includes epidemiology and surveillance experience, social marketing, health communication, and public health preparedness. Ms. McAleer earned her Master of Science in Public Health from the University of South Florida and her Bachelor of Science from James Madison University.
